Laksha.net Updates...

I am planning to put some hours in enhancing the www.laksha.net in coming weeks to include some online services. It will have a directory listing for Indian stores, Indian restaurants and other business running by Indians. It will also have customs pages for some businesses. Deal sharing is something we always do and many web sites supports that using online forums. Now what about having a WIKI kind of functionality where people can update the main deal page of the website rather then discussing and finding in forum. All this and more so stay tune...

TechEd 2006 End

Last 6 days was absolutly wonderful. There was so much to learn during tech ed and I did my best to learn as much I can. I also got chance to talk to experts and Microsoft people to talk about specific senarios. Lunch with Steve who is the core team member of the DotNetNuke was good. Discussion with him gave a clear understanding about DotNetNuke future plans and some of thier current deficalties in getting right people for their team. I wish that everything will be fine and DNN team will continue to be the best .NET open source comunity. I hope learning in tech ed will greatly enhance our team future planning to make our company compitant in the market.

TechEd 2006 Started

Tech Ed has started now. I attended pre-confrence seminar on web services which was excellant and I wish I could attended other seminars as well. After CDAC I never thought that I need any traning becuase in CDAC they teach us how to learn new tech our self. But Aaron covered this wide topic so well and I wish I can attend few more training like this so that I can learn things in one days which I normaly learn in few months. Good job aaron. You can brows his blog at http://pluralsight.com/aaron and download todays presentation and demo code. Key note was facinating and for me it was one of the biggest event I ever attended. Being a MSDN subscriber and having IE homepage set to MSDN I knew about most of the anouncement they made but it was interesting to see a integrated big picture of all the new products and understand the Microsoft vision behind them. I have some photoes and vedio which I will upload later this week and keep posted my experiance, learning and links.

Grabline.com

This website is created & maintained by Vivek Sethi who is a friend of mine. He did help us settling down in Orlando and introduced to other friends before he & family moved to CA. One month was more then enough for us to become good friends. Grabline is not only a great piece of his creativity and ability to implement his thoughts but inspiration for most of us to go beyond the routine job schedule and do something that give intense satisfaction and opportunity to earn money and social respect. I wish very best of luck to him and his efforts. Vinni

Microsoft 2007 - Microsoft Technology That Defines a New Decade

Last year Microsoft came with VS.NET 2005, SQL Server 2005 etc. VS.NET 2005 was a major change over VS.NET 2003 in terms of feature, web controls and the way you program. Same is true for SQL Server 2005 you can now use C# or VB.NET to create store procedures and store procedures could be a .NET class. So no more missing of Oracle package in SQL Server. Be prepared for much more then this as Microsoft is now changing everything. Year 2007 Microsoft will bring a new Operating System named Vista (formerly code-named "Longhorn") First Look... that have completly new file system named WinFs and 1000s of new features. Vista will also come with WinFX which is set of next-generation managed APIs provided by Microsoft. AJAX - Asynchronous JavaScript And XML

AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript And XML. It is a new technology for the websites which can be use to provide response from the web server without submitting the page. Some of the example could be the yahoo next, google suggest etc. It is becoming popular day by day and for .NEt people there is a AJAX.NET. There are many frameworks available to implement this and here is a good comparison of AJAX frameworks for ASP.NET http://www.daniel-zeiss.de/AJAXComparison/Results.htm . I have implemented the similar feature in one of our application using http://www.autosuggestbox.com/Default.aspx which might be deferent then what AJAX.NET can provide us.
